CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION

. The parish of the Church of the Ascension is situated in Lower Broughton, which is approximately 3.5 miles from Manchester City Centre. It is mainly residential with new housing and apartments. The area has undergone three redevelopments since the 1960s. The population has therefore changed many times since then and now consists of lots of different nationalities and religions. During all these changes the Church of the Ascension has been there, not only as a place of worship but as a focal point in the area for all members of the community.

Tragically an arson attack in February 2017 almost totally destroyed the building and the work of restoring the church has been going on since then. The work to restore the shell of the building is complete and work is presently being undertaken internally.

You will be delighted to know that our church of the Ascension is complete now and will have our 1st service on 2nd October at 11am.

come and worship with us. Please bring and share lunch . thanks
