Welcome to St Martin's. Rev Martin Jones has been Licensed with primary responsibility for St Martin's and it's great to be led by him and enjoy worship with his extended family.
We would like to offer a warm welcome to you should you decide to visit our church
St Martin's is an ancient building with a young at heart congregation.
We love and worship the Lord Jesus and He is central to all that we do.
We celebrate Holy Communion twice a month and our emphasis is on enabling families to worship together. We welcome all ages from our youngest, who enjoy the creche facilities through the children, who meet together for their own activities during the service, to our oldest members who appreciate the cushions in the pews.
We celebrate the fact that each of us has been given a gift which God requires us to use, and to that end many people take part in the services each week. Our music group leads our worship and we sing a mixture of modern contemporary songs as well as older traditional hymns.
We offer prayer ministry before and after the service, and have seen the Lord answer our prayers for which we give Him praise.
We serve tea and coffee after each service to enable us to meet together and welcome visitors.
The building is beautiful and dates to Saxon times. It has been added to over the centuries and isn't always conducive to 21st century worship but we do our best to join our worship with the millions who have worshipped here down the ages.
Our children's ministry happens on Friday evenings at 7pm in the village hall when Double G (God and games) meet. This is a fast moving evening for Keystage 2 children which teaches about the love of God through songs, stories, drama, games and play.
We have recently started a new group for Keystage 3 youngsters, a more grown up version of Double G called JLK Junior Leaders Klub or Jesus Loves Kids. It meets on Fridays at 7.30pm in Aldington Village Hall with the emphasis on fun and learning more about Jesus, who He is and why following Him is important.
Occasionally throughout the year the format of Double G is moved to Sunday when the whole church meets at Aldington village hall for a fun packed worshipful time with the Lord. If you are familiar with Fresh Expressions this is our fresh expression of church.
