St Bartholomew’s, Parish of Allens Cross, is a growing congregation, and it is no longer possible to worship on Sundays in the original church hall. All Sunday Morning Services are held at 10 a.m. at the Holloway Hall. The Holloway Hall is in the road called The Holloway in the Ley Hill area, B31 1TT. Going from Merritts Brook Lane it is on the brow of the hill on your right, on the edge of Ley Hill Recreation Ground; there is ample parking. The 18 bus stops outside, coming from Northfield up Frankley Beeches Road and Hoggs Lane, or from Bartley Green via Moor's Lane and Merritt's Hill; so does the new X64 coming from Rubery Great Park along Holly Hill Road, Egghill Lane, Norrington Road, Borrowdale Road, and Trescott Road; or from Birmingham Town Hall via Weoley Castle Square, Woodcock Lane, Hillwood Road, Moors Lane, Cromwell Lane, Genners Approach, Genners lane and Merritt's Hill. We will help you to arrange transport if necessary. Weekday activities and services will continue to be held at the Church Hall in Hoggs Lane, B31 5RG. There is no immediate prospect of using the Hollymoor centre in the near future.
For Calling of Banns, Wedding and Christening enquiries; please contact us after the 10 am Sunday service in Holloway Hall, or on Thursday afternoons between 4.30 and 5.30 at Holloway Hall. Arrangements can be made for weddings to be conducted by the clergy of St Bartholomew’s in nearby churches; please contact St Bartholomew's in the first place. Christenings are held in Holloway Hall. It will be held until further notice at 10 am on the First Sunday of each month, at Holloway Hall, The Holloway, Ley Hill, to which all are welcome. Even small children will enjoy the lively, happy choruses and hymns from Celebration Hymnal for Everyone, and adults too will be able to learn more about Jesus. On the first Sunday of each month there will be an evening celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the Church Hall in Hoggs Lane. So those who like to receive communion every week will be given an opportunity in the evening at 6 pm in the Church Hall, Hoggs Lane. We hope many of you will also go to the morning service tio encourage those who are just beginning their Christian journey.
