The church of St Barnabas is set back from the road at the eastern end of the village with fine views to the south and east. The stone and flint building dates from the 12th and 14th centuries, although the location was used by Saxons and earlier worshippers. The site has been designated a Regionally Important Geological Site because of the unuasual number of large boulders in and around the churchyard; this probably indicates a Pagan site of great antiquity.
