St. Michael and All Angels Amersham on the Hill , Bucks.
St. Michael's is an outward looking, open catholic church with a strong sense of community.
The main 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday Services are Eucharistic and set within a liturgical framework which is used creatively to allow imaginative worship involving the robed choir, music drawn from a wealth of traditions, movement and drama.
On Tuesdays at 10.30 a.m. there is a peaceful, liturgical Eucharist often focussing on and celebrating the saints.
Symbols are used in services as gateways into a richer experience of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the Gospel is thoughtfully preached, encouraging further dialogue and questioning.
There are also opportunities to explore other ways to worship and learn on the journey of faith at 6 p.m. on the 2nd Sunday in the month at Contemplative Fire which draws on the wisdom and passion of the early Christian mystical tradition.
For children and young people there are weekly Sunday groups and each Thursday 4-6.30 p.m. Eco-Club where ecological issues are looked at within the context of us being stewards in God's world.
St. Michael's is committed to Jesus' call to heal the sick and holds regular Eucharistic services of healing and wholeness, with anointing and laying of hands; and also an opportunity, monthly for extended healing prayer.
Visitors can expect a warm welcome, the presence of God and a better cup of coffee than most!
