Appledore Christmas Food & Craft Market
Appledore Village Christmas Food & Craft Market, the last one this year of our mostly monthly craft events in our adjacent Church Hall to raise renovation funds for our lovely church. Locally crafted items are offered at reasonable prices - we usually have around 20 stalls, plus a tombola. From 12 noon we will serve freshly made lunches and light refreshments, then from 4pm there will be mulled wine and mince pies available. At 6pm the popular local Hubba Choir will be on stage to sing a medley of songs and carols. Disabled access is available at the side of the hall and the riverside car park is just across the road. Appledore Food & Craft Markets operate throughout the year, generally the 3rd Tuesday in the month, but occasionally the half term Tuesday and the weekend of the Appledore Summer Festival. More information is available prior to each event on our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/AppledoreStMarys/. Everyone is welcome, including well behaved dogs!

Christingle
This is lovely service for the Children's Society. Christingle is a celebratory event that takes place in thousands of churches and schools across the country, raising funds that help us continue our work supporting young people. Christingle celebrations are named after the Christingles that are lit during the service. Christingles are made from an orange decorated with red tape, sweets and a candle. Find out more about the meaning of each element of the Christingle below. The symbolism of Christingle Each piece of the Christingle holds special symbolism to help children understand the importance of Jesus and the Gospel, and its relevance at Christmas time. -The orange represents the world -The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ -The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God's creations -The lit candle represents Jesus's light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness
