The parish of Ash encompasses the rural North Downs villages of Ash and Hodsoll Street as well as the new, much larger, village of New Ash Green. We aim to welcome all to our church and try to provide something for everyone. On Sundays, services cater for those who like quieter, traditional worship and the more modern Common Worship. During the week there are events for young and old, varying from services in residential homes for the elderly to a youth group and Boys' and Girls' Brigade on Friday evenings. Social events fill a dual function of bringing our families and friends together and raising money for our church and other organisations. The year's highlight is the fete on the Church Meadow opposite the church when virtually all the members of the church entertain hundreds of local people to an afternoon of fun and games. We are proud of our ancient church where people have worshipped for some 800 years so we invite you to visit and maybe join us.
We are currently engaged in three major projects to improve and maintain our historic church. A church room will provide much needed toilet, kitchen and meeting facilities; the tower structure needs extensive repairs (these are now complete) and, within the tower, the bells need to be taken down, refurbished, retuned and rehung. All this will take a considerable amount of money in addition to the normal running expenses of the church so we are grateful for support from all friends and visitors.
