St Mary's Church at Astbury invites everyone, wherever they may find themselves on their spiritual journey, to join in our Christian adventure. Together as a church family, we seek to grow more like Jesus, helping carry one-another’s burdens, sharing our talents and gifts, praying and worshipping together. We do not take ourselves too seriously and we know we are far from perfect, but we do make amazing cakes.

Rogation Service at Smallwood

Address

Astbury, Smallwood and Somerford come together for a joint benefice service on a month where there is a 5th Sunday. This month we meet to celebrate our local countryside and its farmers with the ancient tradition of a Rogation service – a thanksgiving for bounty of the earth, a blessing of the land and its produce and prayers for God's protection on crops and the agricultural industry.
And Smallwood are promising their famous hospitality following the service which will be held at Lynn House Farm at the kind invitation of farmer, John Ball.
