St. Mary's is situated in the picturesque hamlet of Ayston just off the junction of the A47 and the A6003 1 mile north of Uppingham in Rutland. With only 13 houses, Ayston is a quiet backwater near the busy Peterborough to Leicester trunk road. The beautiful parish church dates mostly from the thirteen and fourteenth centuries and has some very beautiful glass.
Monthly services are taken from the Book of Common Prayer 1662.
