St John's Beck Row is a late Victorian church building that was the daughter church of St. Mary’s Mildenhall. Marriages were only performed in the church from 1957 onwards. During the war years the church had strong links with the RAF station. These diminished with the turnover of the station to the USAF but links have never totally ceased and Americans are often a welcome part of the congregation. There is a small war graves cemetery behind the church and a good sized hall within the grounds.
St. John’s has strong congregational participation in a wide range of activities and a willingness to try new things and new forms of worship. Our church family is friendly and welcoming of newcomers. The church seeks to care for the people of the village.
On the third Sunday of each month we don't have a service in Freckenham, as we join with our 5 sister churches and get together to worship at St Mary's Mildenhall.
