On November 1st, the Benefice of Bride Valley and Benefice of Abbotsbury, Portesham and Langton Herring came together to form a new benefice, The Benefice of Bride Valley and Chesil. Each church will still be a parish and responsible for its every day running. One of the first tasks the new benefice will undertake together will be to appoint a new Rector following the departure of Rev. Jane Williams. To do this, a profile for the new Benefice is being prepared which will be available to all priests who express an interest in the post. The interview for the new Rector will hopefully take place in the New Year.
