Bicknor, St James

St James is a Chapel of Ease: it is a beautiful building with no facilities, so evening services are by candlelight. We have 5 services each year: Christingle in December is always popular and very well attended; we hold our Easter Saturday evening Vigil, the St James Patronal Festival in July and the Harvest Festival in October. In addition we have a short service on Good Friday as part of our Walk of Witness.

Safeguarding statement: The parish of Bredgar: St John The Baptist with Bicknor: St James is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Canterbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
