We are so much more than a building—we are a family of people who are following Jesus and helping others to know the ‘Life in Fullness’ that He offers to us. That life is not something in the future. It starts the moment we say ‘yes’ to Jesus’ call to follow Him. It is a life of hope in difficulty, light in darkness, joy in despair, freedom from shame and a life where we understand who we really are.
We want to help you live that life by giving you the opportunity to encounter God in our worship, to understand what the Bible says during our teaching, by offering you the chance to take part in Baptism and Holy Communion and by equipping you to serve and love others so that they can know life in fullness too. Pay us a visit and find out how you can connect with us. We really hope you’ll find a home with us!
Our weekly services
Wednesday @ 11am & Sunday @ 9am are simple, spoken services of Holy Communion, with a 10 to 15 minute talk on a passage from the Bible.
Sunday @ 10.30am has songs led by a music group, engaging teaching, prayers & groups for preschool & primary aged children apart from 1st Sunday when we all stay together for our action packed family service! Tea & coffee is served afterwards. Holy Communion is shared 2 or 3 times a month.

More about the Christian faith
For 2000 years, the Church has led people on journeys to discover who Jesus is and what He’s done for them. At St John’s we use two courses called ‘Start!’ & ‘Alpha’ to help people know Jesus. If you want to take part in one of these courses, we’d love to hear from you!
MadHouse & Mini MadHouse
During our 10.30am service we have groups for pre-school & primary aged kids. Our volunteers are DBS checked & many are qualified in childcare & teaching. Your kids will be guaranteed a safe, fun place to learn how much Jesus loves them!
The bible tells us that since it’s beginnings, the Church has met in homes to share life together and pray and learn more about the teachings we follow. At St John’s we have groups that meet 3-4 times a month in people’s homes. They’re an essential part of being a member of the church and growing as a follower of Jesus.
Chillzone is for parents who want to share the joys & challenges of life with others & think about how following Jesus can shape and help us. It’s a great time of fun, encouragement & support. It meets Thursdays in term time at 9am in St John’s School.
Time for Tea
If you’re over 55 and looking for some great people to share a drink, some cake & a chat with then this is for you! Meets in church most Thursdays 2pm.
Prayer is our most important work as Christians. We gather as church at 7.30pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month to pray for our church & our town. We also learn new ways of being effective in our praying.
Every so often we gather our men and go out for a meal! See church notices for further info.
If you’re thinking about making the commitment of Baptism (sometimes called Christening), for yourself or for a child, we’d love to hear from you so we can talk about the options & begin the preparations. Baptisms usually happen in the 10.30am service.
St Johns is a stunning building in a great location and we’d love to host your special day & help you to prepare for the joy & commitment of married life. You can visit yourchurchwedding.org or get in touch.
10th Blackpool is a fantastic, growing group of over 40 Beavers, Cubs & Scouts that meet in church most Friday evenings. They also join us for our very lively & loud family service on the 1st Sunday of the month.
St John’s School
Of course we’re biased, but we think we’ve got the best school going. It’s a great school with a wonderful Christian environment. See their website for more info- www.stjohnsblackpool.co.uk
