St Thomas the Apostle is of a central/catholic tradition. It is part of the newly created Benefice of West Bolton working together with St Luke, Halliwell, St Matthew, Bolton le Moor, St Paul, Halliwell, St Paul with Emmanuel, Bolton le Moor  and St George the Martyr, Daubhill.

We work closely with St Thomas Church of England Primary School which shares the site. There is a weekly assembly held in the church and church members support the school through serving on the School Governors, helping with Breakfast Club and listening to children read. This work is also supported by HAFWAY (Halliwell Action for Work Alongside Youth).
