We are a family centred church that seeks to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to our local community. The church has a moderate Catholic liturgical tradition focused on the blessed sacrament, but it is a community that welcomes Christians from all traditions to join in its life of prayer and worship.
Built in 1958, to replace an old tin mission church, Ss Peter & Paul has always been at the centre on the community. The building was paid for by local people each buying a brick with their name on, and remains a great achievement for all those involved with the project. Today the church seeks to build up our community in the faith of Jesus Christ, so that we may be a temple of his presence.
Our devotional life is focused on the sacrament of the Christ's body and blood: the eucharist is celebrated as the main act of worship every Sunday. Morning and evening prayer are said daily in the chapel. The sacrament of reconciliation and spiritual direction are available upon request.
The church is open all day every day from 8.30am to 6pm for visitors and pilgrims. There is a prayer request board at the back of the church, and you are welcome to light a candle for a loved one at the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham (also at the back of church).
