St. John's sits in front of St. Margaret's CE School on London Road, Bowers Gifford near Pitsea, the original church hall had to be demolished due to an unsafe structure, we are now housed in a temporary porta-cabin style building.
Even though our facilities are limited we make the best use we can of the building, with monthly communion and family services run in conjunction with St. Margaret's Church services.
The Girls Friendly Society (GFS) use the hall weekly, our Parish Bible Study group meet here every two weeks and monthly 'Create and Chat' meetings are run, as well as providing comfortable facilities for our PCC meetings.
The building is kept as light and cheery as possible and benefits from displays of the childrens work.
St. John's is directly linked with St. Margaret's and the regular parishioners attend both locations, enjoying the traditional services at St. Margaret's whilst experiencing a more relaxed family orientated service at St. John's which often include presentations by the girls of the GFS.
We also have the chance to enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits at St. John's which is not easily provided at St. Margaret's.

All welcome to come along to St. John's Hall for some social crafting, bring along knitting, cross stitching or any other craft / hobby you're working on. Refreshments are available. Help prepare gifts for charity donations or just come along to chat.
