The current church of St Thomas was built in 1974 and is a multi-functional building consisting of a church, prayer chapel, hall, kitchen, lounge and meeting rooms.
The Church is called by God to grow by living out the Gospel of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit using in love the gifts that God is giving each one, through prayer, praise and worship.
Worship at the main Sunday services varies but is always friendly and informal. The services in general take one of the following 3 formats:
Holy Communion based on Common Worship.
Family Worship which is normally led by one or more members of the worship team. This can vary in style and presentation but is always welcoming and inclusive.
Worship4All is even more family friendly and because it is for all the family it tends to be shorter and more visual. After this service soup is served giving us all the chance to sit down and have a chat.
During the first two types of service various children’s groups, which cater for all ages, are available during part of the service.
Refreshments are provided after all main services.
Average Sunday attendance is 100+
The church has many different expressions of worship that take place throughout the week. These include House Groups and Prayer Groups, Synaxis (café church for the young and young at heart), SPACE (café church for adults) and tc’s (Tommy’s Church for children to worship God and find out more about Him in a fun environment through craft, stories and song).
There are regular social groups such as Ladies fellowship, Men’s groups and Saturday Sofa where people meet informally and enjoy a wide range of activities and guest speakers.
