Buckland Ripers is a beautifly little Church tucked away among the trees at the end of Church Lane. Although the list of parish clergy dates back to the 13th century the present Church is of a much later date. Tragically, a fire around 1654 destroyed the mediaeval building and the following year work on the present Church began.
You will see from the pictures how small the Church is, and when the congregation reaches over forty five - usually at a Festival or special occasion, the Church feels quite full. There is space for another twenty or so with additional Chairs and intimate seating!
Our worship is very simple and easy to follow. On most Sundays - except the 5th in the month - there is a service. 1st and 3rd we have our less formal evening service of the word - with singing - and on the 2nd and 4th we have a Common Worship Holy Communion. The Communion is about 45 minutes as the Rector has to dash back to Broadwey for the 10.30am there. We do sing and love having visitors.
