St Mary’s is a lovely church, built in the Arts
and Crafts style, and is a particularly nice
example of this type of architecture. It is in the
heart of the community of Higher Buxton, with a
special place in the hearts of the people in this
community.

The congregation of St Mary's is diverse, from
young families to some very active, young at heart
pensioners and much more besides. But all share a
desire to worship God in relaxed yet formal style.

As well as being there on a Sunday by Sunday
basis, we are there for local families at the
significant times in their lives; weddings,
baptisms, and funerals. Children and families play
an important part in the activities of St Mary’s,
although people who don’t have families say they
feel just as welcome – in fact, St Mary’s feels
like a family to them.
