Michaelhouse is a delightful fourteenth-century church in
the heart of Cambridge. It houses under one roof a
welcoming and inclusive weekday-church with a wide
variety of worship; an award-winning, fully disabled- and
pushchair accessible café; a gallery with stimulating arts
exhibitions 52 weeks a year; as well as a vibrant
community centre with a wide range of artistic,
educational and faith-based workshops, concerts and
plays.

The Parish Church of St John Fisher and Alexander Fagius,
it was established in 1382 by Hervey de Stanton as a
Cambridge College. Following its dissolution in the
1540s, the church retains many medieval features, among
them a set of choir stalls formerly located in Trinity
College Chapel. Many furnishings, including a stunning
reredos celebrating the Angels with matching East
Window, were fitted in the mid-nineteenth century by G.G.
Scott and have been recently conserved and re-lit. Four years
ago the entire building was carefully
remodelled and adapted for use by the wider community. Some
350-400 people make use of our facilities each day, and we'd
be delighted to welcome you among our visitors!

There's the opportunity for laying on of hands and anointing. On the second Saturday of the month we pray for peace and justice. Each third Saturday, our service is followed by a men's breakfast (for details of the women's breakfast call the Michaelhouse Office on 01223 741716).
