Welcome to the website of St. Mary's Church, Chedzoy.
We are a traditional, rural village Church located in the heart of the Somerset Levels. Church life is well supported by an active team of volunteers. Services are held every Sunday and whether you live locally or are a visitor to the area you will be given a warm welcome.
Our Rector is Revd. Chris Keys who can be contacted on 01278 - 691098.
The first mention of a Church in Chedzoy was in 1166 and by 1343 it had been dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin. The arcades and north aisle are early 13th century; the south aisle was widened in the 14th century. The tower was added in the early 16th century together with the porch, the clerestory, the arch into the north transept, and the windows in the north aisle. The chancel was rebuilt in 1884.
