Everyone will find a very warm welcome in our church. The congregation has grown from around 8 people in 2003, to an average Sunday attendance of over 40 people of all ages - teenagers and yound adults included. Our desire is that people from whatever background have a living and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
We believe that God continues to speak to us today through the Bible - His inspired word. So Biblically based preaching and teaching forms a central part of our worship and other activities.
We have a Sunday School and a weekday children's club as well as a Youth Group which meets on Sunday evenings. Adults are encouraged to join a Home Group and we are also running a Bishop's Certificate course.
Our community involvement includes links with the local schools: Burnwood, Heathfield Special School and Burnwood Nursery. And we are also involved in local regeneration throuh Renew.

Home Group Meeting
Our Parish has, at present, has three active Bible Study / Home Groups which run throughout most weeks of the year. One meets on a Monday in the Spitfire Way area, one meets on a Monday in the Smallthorne area and one meets on a Wednesday in the Chell area. All three of these home groups run on a very friendly informal basis with a pleasant mix of bible study, prayer and fellowship. As well as the more serious stuff there is a social element where members enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. The evening meetings all start at 7.30 and conclude at around 9pm. New members would be very welcome indeed. If you would like to find out more about these sessions or are thinking of joining then give Revd. Stephen Pratt a call on 01782 826 577 for further details.

Saturday
Christian Youth Group
Are you concerned about one of your family's or neighbours children hanging around on street corners, potentially in bad company and possibly looking for trouble of some description? Then why don’t you encourage them to join with other youngsters at St. Michael’s Chell for an evening of acceptable Christian fun? As a church run group the evening will obviously include some prayer, Christian conversation (individual and group) and Christian based activities but it will also include games projects and other youth activities appropriate to the development of a Christian teenager in today’s society.

All Age Service
Truly for the whole family, our All Age Service is especially prepared for kids of all ages from those who are just starting to understand to those who are getting to long in the tooth to understand much at all. The service contains some really modern songs to good old traditional heart thumping hymns and the sermon is light with some funny bits, the vicar’s jokes and some serious teaching presented in a light hearted manner. If you have never set foot in a church before then this would be a good place to start and if you have been coming for ever you will still find plenty to enjoy in this service. Although we welcome babies in this service there are crèche facilities if your baby is making you feel embarrassed. Refreshments are served after the service and there is time for you to get to know some of our regulars.
