St Edmund’s Church serves a parish covering South Chingford and the northernmost part of Walthamstow. The Church building (designed by the influential architect N.F. Cachemaille-Day) is located in Larkswood Road by the Chingford Mount shopping centre.

We are part of the Church of England – the nation’s church. All are welcome irrespective of background and belief.

Every Wednesday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Carer's Support Group

Opportunity for carers and those who look after a close relative or friend to meet and share their experience with others, and find support and information.

First Friday of each month; meets in Blake Hall every first Friday at 12:30 PM for 1½ hours

Open Church

This beautiful church is open on Wednesday lunchtimes for people to enjoy the building, in silent reflection or exploring this hidden jewel in South Chingford

April to October only every Wednesday at 12:30 PM for 1 hour

Bereavement Support Group

Opportunity for those who have lost someone special to meet and chat or to be quiet; refreshments served. Open to all irrespective of background, belief or lifestyle.

First, third & fifth Tuesdays in the month; meets in Church every first third and fifth Tuesday at 2:00 PM for 1 hour

Diamond Jubilee Street Party

Holy Communion
Quite reflective early morning service following the order of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; said with no hymns
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ½ hour

Junior Church
Fun activity-based session for children aged 4+ to learn more of the story of God's love
Does not meet during School holidays; meets in Blake Hall every Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Holy Communion
Main act of worship on Sunday. Sung with hymns. Follows Common Worship Order 1 (except in Lent when Order 2 is used)

Bookings

Church Halls Booking Enquiries: Christine Halls, Letting Officer, (020) 8523 7548. The Church Halls complex comprises two halls and a meeting room – the Ryan Hall (capacity = 150/200 people), the Blake Hall (50 people), and the Richmond Room (25 people).

At times of services, Wednesday lunchtimes (12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. April to October inclusive) and by appointment. Wedding and christening enquiries taken on Saturdays (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
