"We are sad to report the death on Bryan Heatley who passed away at home in Ludlow on early morning of Sunday 15th October after a long battle with illness. <a></a>"Bryan is survived by his wife Marie Heatley, his son Simon and his sister Gaynor."As you can imagine Bryan has been well prepared and left clear instructions for arrangements in the event of his death."We are helping Marie through these early days of loss and bereavement and Bryan has left clear instructions for his wishes for a private cremation and a memorial service to be arranged in Ludlow in due course, details of which we will pass on to you when the arrangements have been made."
The Food Bank Committee met recently to discuss to how the Food Bank volunteers are going to meet the demands of the extra work for Christmas at the Food Bank this year. In spite of best efforts there were periods of overload, so in the interests of preventing that from happening, a few decisions have been taken that should even out the load our volunteers face. 1) More volunteers will need to be in place, (not necessarily beyond Christmas, although any wishing to continue because they find it a pleasant way of helping the community). There will be 2 training sessions, with the same information, on November 23rd and 24th at 1.00pm at the Food Bank (Rockspring), so that everyone will know exactly what is involved in making up Christmas bags and hampers. All will be explained at the sessions. 2) Normally there are 2 volunteers working together in the morning to make up food parcels for those referred to the Food Bank. During December there will be a 3rd volunteer to act as a meeter/greeter/sorter for the people bringing donations.Anyone interested in helping out with this necessary work, please contact us by emailing volunteers@ludlowfoodbank.co.uk ,texting 07486 037756 or responding to the Food Bank Facebook request. PLEASE NOTE: Any Christmas-type donations should be made by the beginning of December so that any necessary extra shopping can be made organised in good time.
