The Palm Sunday service took place this morning at Crosscrake Church with a very special visit from Winston the Donkey. Winston, who comes from nearby Raines Hall Farm, the home of the Maize Maze, delighted the congregation as the service, led by Rev. Terry and Rev. Lucy, commenced outside the church with a Palm Sunday reading and distribution of palm crosses, before heading into the church building for the rest of the service.

Winston has been a regular Palm Sunday guest at the church for many years and we were very pleased to see him again today and grateful to the family at Raines Hall for bringing him along. He seemed to enjoy his visit, basking in the glorious Cumbrian sunshine and chewing on some tasty Crosscrake grass, but he was unavailable to comment personally, mainly due to the fact he is a donkey.

Thanks to everyone who attended (Winston included) for making it such a special Palm Sunday service.
