St Thomas's church is not without it's difficulties - a tower in need of tlc focuses minds when there's a waterfall in the vestry and a puddle on the gallery floor. While we set about rating finds to replace the mortar that's weathered we came across several towers wrapped in knitted and crocheted flowers - we decided that 'St Thomas's flower tower' would be a great way of celebrating the jubilee and drawing attention to the church tower. We've made a start and lots of lovely members of Biggin and Hartington-Nether-Quarter's wider community have been knitting and crocheting flower in red, white and blue. We'll soon start adding them to a net once we've completed a dry run hanging the net safely and securely without the flowers.
