Churches across the area have come together to offer a Service of Prayer at 7pm on Thursdays during Lent. Each Church will offer a time of prayer in a different way, depending on its tradition - where all are welcome whether regular, occasional, new, or seeking Christian Faith. Look at the poster for dates and places. No need to book, simply turn up.
Your invite to a short Service of prayer and reflection at Holy Trinity Church Dinting Vale for Ash Wednesday to mark the start of Lent. This Service begins at 6.30pm and will last about 30 minutes including the imposition of ashes - the marking of the cross in ash on the forehead as sign of commitment and to act for good reflecting upon Jesus during this season of Lent heading towards Easter.Doors open from 6.15pm.
The annual ’Week of Prayer for Christian Unity’ takes place from Thursday 18th January - Thursday 25th January. The theme this year, in line with the Churches of Britain & Ireland, is a focus on the Parable of the Good Samaritan and ’To love God... and love our neighbour’.The Week of prayer begins, and will end, with a Prayer Breakfast on the Thursday mornings (18th & 25th) between 9am-10am on both the Thursdays at Holy Trinity Dinting Church. Everyone welcome, no booking required.The main Sunday Service for everyone is the 21st taking place at St Mary Crowned on Sumner Street, Glossop. Service starts at 3pm.
