Eventide Holy Communion: Byrd's Mass for Four Voices (1592)

Notices Church_news

Cantores Chamber Choir will be joining us once again in Turkdean to mount William Byrd's sublime Mass for Four Voices (1592) as an Eventide Holy Communion at 6:30pm on Sunday 19th November, 2023 in this the composer's 400th anniversary year.

Led by Rev Gary Grady and our Priest-in-Charge, Rev Alycia Timmis, this service will officially welcome the return of Turkdean's bells including the Second Bell made by John of Gloucester in the 14th century and the 17th century bells from William Neale's foundry in Burford, Oxon and will mark the first occasion on which all four bells will be rung (from the newly strengthened medieval bell frame!) since the late 19th century.
