Sunday morning @ St Brides

Occurring
Every Sunday at for 1 hour
Venue
St Luke in the City Team
Address
Liverpool, L1 4JF, United Kingdom

Sunday morning services at St Brides are creative, liberal and progressive. We alternate Holy communion and Morning Prayer, and on the last Sunday of each month we move around the three churches of our parish.

Our services include a reading or two, maybe one from the Bible and one from another source such as a poem or reflection; songs and hymns; and a talk or conversation starter with the opportunity for discussion. We value inclusivity and a non-hierarchical approach to worship, so all are welcome to participate as equals.

There is wheelchair access, though we don't currently have a hearing loop (we're working on a refurb!).

At communion, the bread is gluten-free and the wine non-alcoholic, and everyone is welcomed to share in the bread and wine.

St Luke in the City Team

Welcome to the Team parish of St Luke in the City!

We take our name from the church that lies in the centre of our parish area, St Luke's, which was bombed in the May Blitz of 1941 and is now the city's memorial to the civilian casualties of the war. St Luke's is operated by the Bombed Out Church company, whilst our church activities usually run from our 3 active churches, St Bride's, St Dunstan's and St Michael in the City.

Currently St Dunstan and St Michael are open for Sunday worship (at 10am and 11.15am respectively), whilst St Bride's is in use for the Micah Liverpool foodbank only during the pandemic. Over the various lockdowns we have developed an active online presence: Please visit our parish facebook page to join us in online daily prayer at 9.15 Monday to Friday and for Sunday worship at 10am.

Weddings, Funerals and Christenings can be arranged at the largest of the churches, St Dunstan's - please do get in touch if you'd like to know more.

The parish of St. Luke in the City Team is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Liverpool’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services
