Nestling at the foot of Tennyson Down, St Agnes is a beautiful stone church was was built in 1908, through public subscription, on land donated by the Tennyson Family for the people pf Freshwater Bay and the surrounding area. Loved by the local community and visitors alike please do call in and enjoy the peace and quiet, taking a moment to pause and reflect on anything and everything. Check on this site or our own website for details of services and events - or check in the church porch. All welcome.
St Agnes is one of the 4 Churches and 3 Parishes which make up the West Wight Church Community of 'The FYT Parishes' (along with St James' Church, Yarmouth; All Saints Church, Freshwater Bay and Christ Church in Totland Bay). The FYT Parishes, in turn, sit within the emerging West Wight Mission Community which stretches from Shorwell to Newtown and from Calbourne to Totland Bay. The FYT Parishes Team Vicar is Rev'd Leisa Potter. Leisa is supported by a dedicated team of Readers and Lay Worship Leaders.
"The parish of Freshwater: All Saints is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
