Here at St John the Baptist, Stone,We have always welcomed dog walkers to enjoy our beautiful churchyard. However, Recently there have been several incidents where our grounds have been damaged by dogs that have been left to freely roam and a lot of dog mess has been left behind which our gardening volunteers have had to deal with.In light of this, we have had to make the decision to designate our churchyard as a dog on leads only area. We did not want to make this decision as we would love to keep the churchyard as a safe place for dogs to play, but the actions of a few have caused this to be necessary. We hope to be able to reverse this decision if things improve.

We are hoping to improve the path from Bishopstone Road to the church porch, but it is very steep and we have to be careful as there are tombstones and monuments along the route as well as trees and roots to take into account. The architect has measured the area and unfortunately, we can’t make a fully disabled compliant slope, but they have given us 2 options which we could do and we would like your views. Please note that we will still have to do the best we can, but your answers will help us in the deliberations which are to be had.If you would please help by completing the survey, we would really appreciate your time and views.Complete Survey
