Our prayers, together with the prayers of the nation, are with the Royal Family as they mourn the loss of their dear mother and grandmother, and we mourn the loss of a remarkable Sovereign. At home in the arms of her Saviour, may Queen Elizabeth rest in peace and rise in glory. During this time of mourning, our churches will be open for you to come in and quietly remember Her Majesty, in prayer or in stillness. There is an official Book of Condolences at St Mary’s Church, Stafford, or online at www.churchofengland.org Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and her dedication to duty. Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
On Friday 8 April, we finished our pilgrimage with another 2.5 mile walk in 1 hour. We enjoyed hot cross buns and a hot drink when we arrived in Adbaston. Each of the walks have been really enjoyable, both in the fellowship and discovering new footpaths, but most importantly, joining up each of the churches around the Benefice as we recognise that we are just walking distance away from each other!Thank you everyone for your support of this venture, which is to be continued ...
On Friday 25 March, in gloriously sunny weather again, after a prayer at the church doors, we walked from St Peter's Church, Norbury to Christ Church, Knightley, walking a slightly shorter distance of 3.2 miles in 1 hr 20 minutes. Thank you to all those who have walked, offered lifts or refreshments. We are enjoying discovering new routes through the countryside as we chat and walk. More photos and details of the other walks are on the attached document.
