Please leave your contributions un the church or church porch on the Thursday before or up to 10.00am on the Friday. The report below shows how the support team distributes donations:“Over this past week (Thursday, Friday Saturday) Barbara Ewing and Lucy Smith and the small team of volunteers invited 22 families to our foodbank. Altogether we now help 25 families or households who have been referred to us. As always, the families come in separately to choose the items they like best and then sit with us by a warm radiator in the church to tell us their news and stories, many of which are difficult emotionally to hear. But we are good listeners and give them empathy, some financial help if needed, sometimes a prayer, and big hugs as they leave. Those who do not have transport are then driven home with their heavy bags by our 2 volunteers.Future EventsTues 5th February Coffee and Chat in Church 10.30 to noon.

Robert grew up in Cadmore End; he was a Cadmore Caroller for many years and lived the last thirty years on Cadmore Common. He was a school friend of Richard (Dick) Bates, and was well known by many others locally. Professionally he was a project manager in the construction industry and he had many other interests, including walking and the natural world. His historical knowledge of the Cadmore communities will be very much missed and the steering group of the church’s nave roof project will feel the loss of Robert’s skills as we move into the final stages of completing the repairs and replacement work to the church roof. We send our condolences to his wife Sue.Nigel King RIP - sadly Nigel passed away on the 15th December. Our sympathy and prayers go to Sandra, their two daughters and families. They lived in Cadmore End at High Hedges for 34 years and their daughters attended Cadmore End School. A Memorial Service at Cadmore End Church on Thursday 1st February is being planned followed by a wake in the Village Hall, details to follow.Seasons greetings, safe travel throughout the festive season and best wishes for a prosperous, healthy New Year.
