The Front Room is a friendly, welcoming drop-in community space for people who may be experiencing social isolation or simply want to meet others, enjoy some company and access support.

We offer activities, affordable meals, practical advice and wellbeing support in a safe and inclusive environment. Everyone is welcome, and our members help shape what we do.

Our objectives are to:
- Reduce social isolation and the negative impact it can have on people's mental and physical health.
- Provide accessible advice and support for people who are isolated or need extra help.
- Encourage people to take an active role in their community and wider society.

We are open Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 9.30am–2.30pm. Breakfast, tea and coffee are free, with lunch available for £4 on Mondays and Fridays and £3 on Tuesdays.

On Tuesdays, we also run an Advice Hub Drop-In, bringing a range of advice and support into the Front Room.

Our stay-and-play groups are inclusive and open to all. We operate on a free, turn-up-and-play system with voluntary donations upon entry. We provide soft play and sensory toys to keep your little ones entertained. Childminders are welcome!

We are proud community partners with XLP, joining them on their youth club double-decker bus every Thursday evening at 4 PM during term time. You can find them at the park/green space on Shroffold Road.

Everyone is welcome at St Luke’s regardless of ages, backgrounds, needs, experiences and faith. At St Luke’s, we try to combine an accessible, informal and friendly church community with some of the more traditional things you might associate with church and the Christian faith – such as robes, liturgy (prayers and responses) and various symbols.

If adults or children need to use multi-sensory resources to help feel comfortable, stay focused and engaged these are available at the back, including ear defenders, sensory aids, fidget toys, rosary prayer beads and holding crosses. We also have some mindfulness colouring resources and felt pens.

All the words of our service, including songs, are displayed on the screens and Rev. Nick will guide us through the parts to join in – feel free to say these as loud as you wish!

Children and young people can participate in activities and discussions related to the sermon. We sit together at the front of the church so everyone can see and hear. Children are encouraged to move around the church freely and safely, with access to our dedicated family sofa zone for additional activities. We have an array of multi sensory resources designed to suit all ages.

After the service we have a free community meal which everyone is welcome to (make sure to be there for 11 to let us know if you are eating)
