St John the Baptist, Clayton is a "little gem". Nestling below the South Downs it contains significant medieval frescoes covering most of walls. It is well worth a visit and usually open daily.
St John's is home to a friendly and welcoming congregation whose main service is each Sunday at 11.15am. The pattern of services includes Matins and Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. There is also a quiet Communion service on the first Sunday of the month at 8am and sung Evensong at 6.30pm on the fourth Sunday of the month (during British Summer Time only).
The first Sunday of each month is our family service. All are welcome to come to the hall opposite the church from 10.30am where there are refreshments and children's activities before we move into the church at 11.15am for a short and informal service.
