A church has stood in Clive since the time of the Norman invasions. Since then it has seen many alterations taking place. The most significant of these alterations commenced in 1885 and resulted in the church as we see it today. The Bibby family at the Hardwicke estate were the main benefactors of this work.
The Church has held registers dating back as early as 1671. These are now kept, for safety, in the archives in Shrewsbury.
Recent alterations to the church have included a sound system and hearing aid loop system and improved central heating. These were paid for through several major fund raising events.
A short distance up Grinshill from the church is Clive C.E. Primary school. The school enjoys close links with the church - regular assemblies are conducted by the vicar either in church or in the school. Special assemblies at Christmas, Easter and for Leavers in July are also held in the church.
