There's been a church in Compton Dando since 1143. It's a beautiful church in a lovely setting, ideal for weddings. And it's open every day from 09:00 to 17:00.
We are in an interregnum and currently have no priest, so there are services three times a month on Sundays and one every Thursday.
We have a medieval tower and a peel of 6 bells which are rung regularly. We've installed a ringing floor in the tower and built a kitchen in the base of the tower. We've replaced the very old Central Heating boiler and put in some more radiators to keep us a bit more comfortable in the winter months.
We've put smartwater on all our valuables and lead roofing and coated all our downpipes with anti theft paint. The church is floodlit from dusk to dawn
We installed a dais in the nave and now have a Nave Altar. We've moved all the pews from the North Aisle to make space for Meetings and for Church Teas with home made cakes which we serve every Sunday from May29 in the summer from 2pm to 5pm.
