Cranwich is a small village about 2 miles North
West of Mundford.
Sitting high in a circular churchyard St Mary
the Virgin church has a timeless look. The round
Tower and much of the Nave and Chancel are pre-
conquest.
The Tower has circular windows with carved stone
knots like primitive tracery. Battlements have
been added at a later date.
There are a variety of Windows in the Nave and Chancel.
The South Porch shelters a
Transitional doorway, so every style from Saxon
to Perpendicular can be seen here. The roof is thatched.
The Church has recently been awarded grants
from English Heritage and other bodies to completely renovate the Church.
Therefore there are no services at present.
If you would like to donate to the church please
send any donations to the contact address.
