St Paul's stands firmly in the AngloCatholic tradition of the Church of England and is a registered Forward in Faith parish in the pastoral care of the Bishop of Beverley.
The vicar, Fr Brooks (here since 1980) is a member of the FiF Council and editor of FiF's quarterly paper "Forward! plus" and has been for 34 years a priest of the Society of the Holy Cross (SSC). He and members of the congregation belong to the Society of our Lady of Walsingham, the Society of Mary, Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, Guild of All Souls, and GSS.
The building is at the centre of the 1950s housing estate and serves as church, hall and community centre.
One third is permanently screened as church, where Morning & Evening prayer are said and Mass celebrated daily.
An "Age Integration" programme run jointly with Croxteth Community Council involves volunteers in providing social support for elderly residents.
Local voluntary groups and tenants associations, including Croxteth Community Federation,hold meetings and events in the hall.
