All Saints' is one of the most complete and unaltered Late Perpendicular churches in South Yorkshire (begun around 1480). Today, we aim to be an inclusive worshipping community where all people and all ages are welcome.

The tradition of the church is open catholic, with an emphasis on well-ordered worship and a high standard of preaching. Regular opportunities are offered for exploring the Christian faith. We enjoy ourselves, and there is a good deal of emphasis on celebrating friendships and having a good party.

We serve a large area, comprising 9,000 people, including the communities of Darton, Kexbrough, Woolley Colliery and Barugh. Traditionally, these were mining communities. Following the decline of the mining industry in the 1980s, there have been many changes to our locality. Increasingly, people work in service industries, and while many well-established families provide a sense of continuity, our proximity to the M1 motorway, and the cities of Leeds and Sheffield, has meant that many younger people have found this an attractive and convenient place to live.

We are committed to serving everyone who lives in our parish (not simply the churchgoers). We hope that everyone will find a warm welcome in our church, as well as silence and space for reflection and prayer.

We also enjoy a close friendship with our neighboring parish of Cawthorne.

If you are enquiring about BAPTISM or MARRIAGE please come to church on any TUESDAY evening between 7.30pm & 8.00pm where one of the clergy will be available to meet with you and make the arrangements.

We receive many enquiries about burials in our churchyard, and it is not always possible to respond immediately. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT POSSESS BURIAL RECORDS PRIOR TO 1972. All enquiries about burials before this date should be directed to the County Archive at Barnsley Town Hall.
