***THIS CHURCH HAS NOW BEEN CLOSED***
A beatiful church in the village of Trimdon Colliery. This is a lovely church and the biggest of all the trimdons. Built 1884-1893, the red brick exterior of this church hides an attractive and well proportioned interior, which is spacious light and airy, accommodation 170. The aesthetically pleasing architecture, making good use of strong vertical lines, is both tasteful and dignified. A most striking and interesting feature is the copper cased clock tower, erected in 1950 as a war memorial.
