Located on Southern edge of the South Downs and on the Eastern side of the River Great Ouse, opposite Newhaven Port, the parish covers the residential area of Mt Pleasant (Newhaven), the villages of Denton and S. Heighton and the nearby hamlet of Tarring Neville

St Leonard's Church at Denton was founded during the Early English Period ( c 1288), and later extended and carefully restored during the Decorated Period. The walls are of flint and stone and the Vestry was added during the 20th Century.
The Manor of Denton was held in Saxon times by Earl Godwin, Father of King Harold. It seems likely that Denton was destroyed during the Saxon rebellion of 1068. It does not appear in the Doomsday book of 1086. The remains of what is thought to have been a Priest's House in the west end of the churchyard, dating from about 1280, has recently been partly restored.

Often with puppets - all weclome
Every first Sunday at 10:00 AM for 55 minutes
Sunday Club for children 4 years and upward. Every Sunday in term time with the exception of the 1st Sunday of the month when its Family service in the Church for all.
Term time only every second third fourth and fifth Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour
with Sermon and prayers

Wednesday
Holy Communion with homily and prayers
Every Wednesday at 10:00 AM for 40 minutes
Bible study in church hall every third Wednesday. All welcome
Every third Wednesday at 11:00 AM for 1½ hours
Small group meeting to pray for the Parish.
Every Wednesday at 7:00 PM for 1½ hours
Thursday
For pre-schoolers and their parent/carers
Term Time only every Thursday at 2:15 PM for 20 minutes
Games, talks, table tennis, wii, tuck for school years 4-6
Every first and third Thursday at 6:00 PM for 1½ hours
