St Andrew's church is known as the "Shepherds' Church", undoubtedly because the shepherds who tended their famous sheep on the South Downs used it as a place of worship. People have probably worshipped at St. Andrew's for the best part of 1000 years and today services are held at least once a month.
Services at Didling follow the long established traditions for Matins, Eucharist and Evensong as set out in the Book of Common Prayer. The emphasis is on simplicity, peace and tradition. Services are always candlelit and it is a rare privilege to worship at a church so ancient and simple. During the summer evenings sheep can be heard throughout the service and during winter the Christmas Day Eucharist is particularly popular.
All are welcome to join us at Didling for Matins, Eucharist or Evensong services. We invite baptised members of all trinitarian Christian churches to take communion.
