Originally built as a chapel of ease, the Church of St John the Baptist services the small village of Dorton as well as acting as chapel to the neighbouring Ashfold School.
St John the Baptist Church is part of the Bernwode Benefice. It has one regular service a month: Encounter (all age) on 2nd Sunday of the month at 4pm. When there is a 5th Sunday, there a Benefice Communion in St James at 10am. There are also services on the major festivals.
