The style of worship in St. Matthew's is in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, employing much rich symbolism to remind us continually of the central truths of our Faith.
The church building contains many beautiful features, each filled with meaning, to help our minds rise to God, to remember the Life of Christ and His Saints in stained glass and other ornaments. Several of our windows depict scenes from our Lord's life and may be a useful aid to meditation. Pictures around the walls at each of the Stations of the Cross can help us to think of how Jesus suffered for our sins.
If you are unfamiliar with our style of worship, when you visit us please ask for one of the large red mass books. These contain notes on the mass, which we hope will help to explain the liturgy.
You will be made most welcome at any of our daily masses. After our main Sunday mass at 10.30am we hope you wll join us for coffee in the hall.
