A beautiful church set in a stunning location. It is little wonder that Queen Mary is reported to say "the best view from a church in the whole country"
St Leonard is a wonderful place to come and worship and all visitors to this special place are welcome to join us. We regularly worship following the Book of Common Prayer.
We are a member of the Prayer Book Society and a registered Pilgrim Place.
We are only a small congregation, so your donations will help us maintain this wonderful church for generations to come. Thank you for your support.

Our parish of Downham & Twiston: St Leonard is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, who is our Warden, or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services
