St James the Great is a shared church owned and run jointly by Catholics and Anglicans since 1976 when the present building was completed. Both congregations worship on Sunday mornings. The Anglican Eucharist is moderately catholic, with a lively Sunday school, young servers and a family service on the first Sunday each month. It is a small but welcoming church, offering friendship and community support in the heart of Downley.
