We are based in the church and centre on Barking Road, and the church, which is modern in design, can be adapted for different occasions. The building is open 7 days a week, with various activities in the centre. The church is open for quiet prayer whenever the centre is open, and we have regular services on Thursday lunchtimes and Sundays, with many seasonal services.
We seek to be a welcoming and inclusive Christian community in an area that is constantly and rapidly changing, but to which many people have belonged for a long time. Our aim is to reflect the spirit of togetherness and caring seen in the statue of the Holy Family on the front of the church Our diverse congregation is aged 0 to 90+ years, from all walks of life, with a regular Sunday Club for children and young people. We are always pleased to see newcomers and visitors, so do give us a try sometime.
Please note that Nightshelter is not held at St. Bartholowmews, for more information on Nightshelter programmes in the area please visit The Newham Community Renewal Programme here. The link will open in a new page, to return to our site please close the new page.
