St James’s Church is often described as a hidden gem. Over eight hundred years of worship has imbued this tiny, simple church with an almost palpable atmosphere of peace. Regular services are from the Book of Common Prayer and this much loved little church, and its congregation, welcomes everyone.
From January 2013 East Lambrook became part of the ecclesiastical parish of South Petherton for administrative purposes but remains within the civil parish of Kingsbury Episcopi. Later in the year the church's legal niceties will reflect the interim practicality and East Lambrook will be formally attached ecclesiastically to South Petherton.
On Sunday 27th January 2013 the rector of South Petherton, Rev Tom Handy, became associate priest to the existing benefice of Kingsbury Episcopi with East Lambrook and has assumed primary responsibility for East Lambrook.
Tom should be contacted for any pastoral matter such as wedding, baptism and funeral enquiries or if you simply want to talk to an ordained minister in confidence. Either telephone 01460 240377 or Email: [email protected].
Service patterns have changed in 2013 so please contact our churchwarden Susan Ogilvy on 01460 241725 for up to date information.
