St Mary's Church is a beautiful and ancient place of worship in the heart of Sherwood Forest. It is visited by hundreds of tourists annually, who come to see the church where, according to legend, Robin Hood and Maid Marian were married! The building dates from around 1175, and is still used daily as a place of prayer and worship.

Edwinstowe is a busy village of around 5000 people, with many community organisations and village events. It has a strong mining history, with Thoresby Colliery still in operation on the outskirts of the village.

The church is open daily during the summer months, although visitors are advised to phone in advance if they are coming some distance.

Sunday

Holy Communion (traditional)
A traditional language service at 8am most Sundays. A gentle and thoughtful way to begin the day.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ¾ hour

Holy Communion (contemporary)
Everyone is welcome to our Common Worship Holy Communion service, with hymns and songs. Children are welcome to stay in church or to attend One Way Club, which takes place in the Church Rooms on Mansfield Road.
Every first third fourth and fifth Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Come & Worship (All Age Service)
A family-friendly service for all ages, with lots to do and music provided by our music group.
Every second Sunday at 10:00 AM for 55 minutes
